Officers from General Direction ‘Communication and Information Systems’ to the General Staff in Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and experts from Bulgarian company Lema Trading Ltd. are going these days to Afghanistan in order to install the equipment for the satellite link with our military contingent in Afghanistan. The information was provided by Brigadier –General Boyko Simitchiev – Chief of General Direction ‘Communication and Information Systems’.
Upon the implementation of the VSAT communication system our peacekeepers in Kabul will have the excellent opportunity to make official and personal calls to their colleagues and relatives. There will be possibility for transmission of voice, data, fax and video information. We hope our next communication session with Afghanistan to be accompanied by video connection.
There is similar system for voice and video transfer with Iraq. According to the opinion of the experts, a part of the system should be returned to Bulgaria for full preventive examination.
A satellite link with our military contingent in Bosnia and Herzegovina could be expected to be realized in the near future.
